Just caught the new revamped, reboot Dredd movie. As is the trend with all comic movie adaptation lately, it is suppose to be darker, grittier and more realistic. As for how close it is to our favorite cop, I guess it depends on your personal taste.
Let's start with the look of Judge Dredd and the Judge's uniforms
Stallone version
Karl Urban
The new helmet is closer to the comic version but the cool Eagle and Badge bling bling is much better in the Stallone version. Brings the grandeur of the Judge's uniform out.

Now for the Lawmaster
New Lawmaster
Original version
The Stallone version looks more cool and closer to the comic Lawmaster then that monstrous off balance new design. I mean seriously what were they thinking ?
OK Mega City 1, how does this look ?
2012 version
1995 version
Stallone's version was far into the future version similar to the comic Mega City 1. The new version is more of a nearer future where Mega City 1 has grown recently.
Sidekicks Hershey vs Anderson
Diane Lane as Judge Hershey
Olivia Thirlby as Judge Anderson
Although 2 totally different characters, Judge Hershey in the movie was closer to her comic counterpart then Judge Anderson. What you mean she's a mutant ? She's a Psi-Judge! She had a bright and kind of loopy personality being a Psi-Judge which contrasted with the kiddy character that was being portrayed in the new movie. Of BTW guys, rookie Judges had 1/2 shields and only earned their full shields after their street evaluation.
Bad Guys and other references
Ma-Ma vs Rico, ABC Robot, SJS, Angel Gang, Chef Judge Griffin (nuff said)
OK so Stallone took his helmet off....jee..any way make your own mind up which one your prefer. I still vote for the Stallone version.
