The latest figure coming out in the 6 inch Iron Man figure range is the Marvel's Initiative version of War Machine. Face plate seems similar to the Guardsmen mask and the sculpt is close to the comic version. Comes with a missile launcher and cannon not forgetting the wrist blasters. A nice solid body sculpt which replicates the comic War Machine closely. A definite must for any Iron Man collection.

Marvel Legends style Iron Man Avengers Initiative Crimson Dynamo
In preparation for the Avengers Initiative movie, the new line of Iron Man 6 inch figures are coming out and amongst the coolest figures, the Crimson Dynamo figure. Comes with a launching electrifying blast. This figures has a solid sculpt and looks awesome. The crimson color is also of the right shade and does not look too overly red. The balance is also good and poses well. The launcher that comes with the figure, is a re-paint of the launchers used for the earlier Iron Man figures. It is a great figure to add for any Iron Man collection.

Maisto SILVER SURFER GALACTUS die cast car truck collection
Maisto has the licence to the Marvel Universe and has produced some cool cars based on Marvel Characters. Some of the coolest designs are the SILVER SURFER and GALACTUS die cast cars and trucks.
Capturing the awe inspiring looks of the SILVER SURFER and GALACTUS, they are a great addition to any Fantastic Four collection.

ODIN ruler of ASGARD
The first figure for Marvel Universe's ODIN reflects the movie version from the upcoming THOR movie. Not a bad looking figure but my impression of this character was always as a larger figure in comparison with THOR. However it seems to reflect the movie character well. Main gripe are the accessories which seem too overly large for the figure and the weight does not ballance well to allow any real posing. The sheild is also not golden as depicted on the card. Guess they decided to cut some cost in painting it.
Equally so the sword that comes with ODIN. Much too large to be held in his hands and too cumbersome to be in scale with the figure. The paint scheme also was not what was depicted on the card.
Overall the figure works well without the accessories and I am inclined to pose it without.

Marvel Universe Wolverine vs Silver Samurai comic pack
Wolverine takes on the Silver Samurai and the Hand ninjas in the latest Marvel Universe comic pack. Wolverine / Patch is dressed in the black John Buscema costume as per cover of the Wolverine comic included in the pack. Interesting enough is that when you open the comic, Wolverine is dressed in his classic yellow costume and does not don the John Buscema black costume as depicted on the cover. That aside, it is a nice scale which fits better as part of the other X-men collection then some of the previous releases of Wolverine.
Silver Samurai is real cool and about 2 heads taller then Wolverine, which makes him close to the scale depicted in the comic. Nice detailing on his armor and comes with his samurai sword and short sword.
Great for any X-men collection. Get them today from my webstore here

THOR arrives in Penang...
The much anticipated Marvel Universe THOR movie tie-ins arrives in Penang. Part of the Avengers initiative and build up to the Avengers movie.
I managed to grab a few to have a closer look.
I really did not like the new LOKI look so that was out. My favourite size are the 3 3/4 inch size, so the THOR figure in that size was my focus. There were 3 different types, but essentially the same figure with different accessories. There was a glowing hammer and sword spike versions which did not seem appealing. So I settled with the battle hammer version.
OK a few things stand out when looking at this figure. First of all the so called battle hammer was not as depicted on the card and was more of a sword with the hammer part stuck in as the sword guard. The hand grip could not hold on to the hammer / sword well. Good thing I was only really interested in the hammer and which was scaled well and fit well in the hand.
Costume looked cool with a nice detailing.
Still have some doubts on the facial sculpt although very nice but the expression seems dull and neither fierce or noble looking. Guess that is just my taste and opinion.
Check back later when we will visit ODIN.
